For first-timers

Nervous? Good. It means you care.

Nobody is born knowing how to drive. Our instructors have taught thousands of people who were sure they'd never get it — and watched them pass.

We go at your speed, explain everything before we ask you to do it, and never raise our voices. The car has dual controls, so you're safe from the very first minute.

What your first lesson looks like

  1. We pick you up and drive to a quiet road
  2. A walk-around of the car and the controls
  3. Moving off and stopping — nothing more
  4. A chat about how it went and what's next
  5. An honest estimate of the lessons you'll need

Four stops, in order

Your road to the licence

No guesswork about what comes next. Here's the whole journey, from your first theory lesson to the moment the examiner says you've passed.

  1. Stop 1

    Theory

Short online lessons and hundreds of practice questions. Learn the rules on your phone, at your own pace.

  2. Stop 2

    Lessons

One-to-one lessons in a dual-control car, starting on quiet roads and building up at your speed.

  3. Stop 3

    Mock test

A full practice test on real test routes, marked the way an examiner would — so nothing on the day is new.

  4. Stop 4

    Test day

A warm-up lesson beforehand, the car you learned in, and your instructor waiting when you get back.

Why learn with us

Everything you need to pass, and to drive well after

  • Dual-control cars

Modern, clean cars with an instructor's brake — so you're safe while you learn.

  • Door-to-door lessons

We pick you up from home, school, college or work, and drop you back.

  • Lessons that fit your week

Early mornings, evenings and weekends, booked around school or shifts.

  • Theory on your phone

Bite-sized lessons and mock theory tests you can revise on the bus.

  • A report after every lesson

What went well, what to work on, and how close you are to test-ready.

  • Patience, always

Calm instructors who explain before they ask, and never make you feel rushed.

Lessons and practice

Practice with family helps. Lessons get you through the test.

Most learners do both. Here's what each one is for — and your instructor will tell you what to practise between lessons.

FAQ

Questions learners (and parents) ask

Something else on your mind? Ask when you book — we're happy to talk it through.

I'm really nervous. Is that normal?

Completely. Most of our learners are nervous at first. Your first lesson starts somewhere quiet, goes at your pace, and you won't be asked to do anything you're not ready for.

How many lessons will I need?

It depends on you, not a formula. After your first lesson your instructor will give you an honest estimate and update it as you progress.

Do you pick me up?

Yes. Lessons start and finish at home, school, college or work — wherever suits you within our area.

Should I learn in a manual or an automatic?

Automatic is quicker to learn and great if you'll only ever drive automatics. Manual gives you a licence for both. We'll talk it through with you.

Can I use your car for my test?

Yes. Most learners take their test in the car they learned in, with a warm-up lesson just before.

When should I start the theory?

Straight away. Theory and practical lessons reinforce each other, and the online course means you can revise on your phone between lessons.
